The NCTC volleyball team earned a conference win on the road at Collin College on September 24th. The team took set one quickly with a score of 25-19. In a second set thriller, the team won 36-34 battling for every single point, then earned a win with a set three score of 28-26.

Sophomore outside hitter Emarei Brandon had herself a day with 17 kills on 36 attempts and only 3 errors. She also picked up 7 digs, 3 blocks and an ace. Freshman libero Alison Figueroa and sophomore outside hitter Emily Metzler both added 10 digs a piece for a strong defensive game. Figueroa also had 2 aces and 6 assists, while Metlzer put up 9 kills and an ace. Freshman setter Alexis de Vries earned a new career best of 36 assists for the match, along with 2 aces, a dig and a kill.

The team continued conference play with another road match at Ranger College, dropping it in three. Alexis de Vries put up 18 assists, 14 digs and 3 kills, another high for the freshman. Metzler put up 4 kills, along with a group of 3 kills a piece from Joy-Lece Bateman, Emarie Brandon, Kyla Williams, and Kynadi Hall. Hall also added the second highest dig count with 9, followed by Figueroa and Isabel Gabbert with 6 each.

Next up for the team are two home games vs Hill College on October 1st at 6pm and then vs SWCC on October 4th at 1pm.
