NCTC volleyball picked up a home win against Temple College on September 13th, and then another win on the road against Cisco College on September 17th.

Matching up with Temple, the lady lions dropped the first set 18-25, then came back to take the next two 25-23 and 25-17. Temple took set 4 25-23, but the lady lions came back victoriously dominating set 5 15-8. In the 5 set win, Emily Metzler and Kassidy Paul led the team offensively with 9 kills a piece, followed by Emarei Brandon with 8 and Denim Crow with 7. Alison Figueroa earned 17 digs on the match, followed by Alexis de Vries with 13 and Metzler with 11. De Vries also added 27 assissts, along with Alayna Francis who had 17. Joy-Lece Bateman contributed 4 blocks on the match accompanied by a pair of blocks from Metzler, Paul, Brandon, Crow, and Kynadi Hall. 

At Cisco College, the lady lions took a clean 3 set sweep. Figueroa dominated the back row, earning 18 digs on the match, also adding with a pair of aces and 7 assists. Standout pin hitter Metzler had a double double match, earning 12 kills and 10 digs. Kate Walraven added 8 kills for the lions, followed by Bateman and Paul with 6 each. Francis and de Vries both earned 16 assists a piece as well to help secure the win.

In the matchup with McLennan on September 20th, the lady lions fell in a thrilling 5 set match. Brandon led the offense with 10 kills, followed by Paul with 8. Bateman and Paul dominated the net, earning 15 blocks combined, along with freshman middle blocker Hall who also added 5 more blocks. Defensively, Figueroa led with 13 digs, followed by Metzler with 11, and Marlee Howard with 10.

Next up for the lady lions is 2 matchups on the road. The team faces Collin College on September 24th and 6pm, and then Ranger College on September 27th at 1pm.
