NCTC split with Weatherford College in the conference doubleheader at home on April 25th.
The lions started the first inning up 1-0, until the coyotes had a strong 4-run second inning. Battling neck and neck through 7 innings, the lions came out on top to take game one 6-5. Standout athletes of the game included Logan Sanchez and Jackson Ridge, each earning 2 RBI for the lions, along with Colson Wood and Isaiah Castaneda adding additional RBI's a piece. Combined pitching efforts from Riley Hoelscher, Jax Stockton and Brayden Stout pushed the team through to keep Weatherford from coming back and secured a big win for NCTC.
In game two, the lions fought hard through every inning, but fell just short 3-7. Putting the lions on the scoreboard were Andrew Roberts with a home run and a double to earn 2 RBI and Colston LeGrand IV with a single RBI. Isaiah Castaneda, Merrick Beamish, William Hickson and Ryder Cameron each took a turn on the mound, combining for a total of 8 strikeouts.
On April 27th, the lions faced off with Dallas College- North Lake, bringing the heat from the start with a 6-0 lead through eight innings. North Lake managed to add two run in the final inning, but could not stop the lions from taking care of business and picking up the win 6-2. Logan Sanchez showed out for the lions with 2 home runs and 4 RBI. Andrew Roberts hit another run for the team, and Kai Reid added an RBI. Monte Dismuke, Wyatt Sadleir, Matthew Clark, William Hickson, Nick Ellis and Asher Goehmann each played their part pitching and combined for 12 strikeouts.
