NCTC Baseball Goes 1-3 With Cisco; Wins Over Cedar Valley

Lion baseball matched up with Cisco College on March 18th & 21st, and defeated Dallas College- Cedar Valley at home on the 23rd.

In the home conference doubleheader event with the wranglers, the lions fell 2-7 & 4-16 on March 18th. In the second round on the 21st, the lions started out strong, taking down Cisco 10-6, but falling in a close game four 6-8. Top players in the game three win included Colson Wood, who earned 3 RBI with a double and Isaiah Castaneda with 2 RBI singles. On the mound, Robert Moreno started off the first 4 innings facing 22 batters and earning 5 strikeouts. Jax Stockton finished the game facing 11 batters and holding Cisco at 6 runs.

The lions then faced Dallas College- Cedar Valley on March 23rd at home, taking down the suns 9-4. In a strong batting game, Colson Wood led with 3 RBI in a home run, along with Logan Sanchez with 2 RBI in a home run and double. Blayne Hoelscher also hit a homer for the lions to add another RBI. Pitching efforts from Riley Hoelscher, Monte Dismuke, Asher Goehmann, Nick Ellis and Nick Foster combined for a total of 14 strikeouts.
