Two fomer Lion teammates, Bryan Holaday and Kaleb Herren are going to Omaha for the College World Series.
Holaday, the senior captain at TCU helped the Frog beat #2 ranked Texas in the Super Regional that ended on Sunday. Holaday had a great tournament with four hits, two doubles, and a homerun off closer Chance Ruffin in the 8th inning of the final game. This marks the first time in TCU history the baseball team has qualified for the College World Series.
Kaleb Herren, a senior outfielder, had a single and a diving catch in the last inning of the deciding game against Virginia last night for OU. The Sooners won by the final of 11-0.
This marks the first time since Craig Stansberry that the Lions have had a player make it to the College World Series in Omaha. Stansberry helped lead the Rice Owls to a National Championship in 2003 while playing third base. He made the final out for the Owls in the Championship game.
