On Saturday, the Lions pushed their conference winning streak to six games, but it was not easy. A scoreless game in the 7th, Daniel Sciantarelli led off with a single. After a walk to Stewart Hill, Jon McManemin singled to right to score the winning run.
Starter Kyle Felts had baserunners on all game, but he was his best once they were in scoring position. Several times Hill had chances to score, but every time Kyle Felts would make the big pitch to keep them from scoring. He finished up with the complete game shut-out allowing seven hits while striking out six.
Game two the Lions got down early 5-0 in the first four innings before the offense got one back. Adam Kirsch singled and later scored on Garrett Harris' single to left.
In the 5th, Stewart Hill singled home Reggie Rodriguez from second while an Andrew Goodman sacrifice fly to center cut the lead to 6-3. Unfortunately that was as close as the Lions would get.
The lone bright spot on the mound was Adam Westbrook's work in relief. He came in the 5th inning and never gave up a run until an un-earned run scored in the 9th. He gave the Lions a chance to win holding Hill down. He finished up pitching four innings in relief giving up one un-earned run on three hits.
Adam Kirsch led the offense this week with seven hits and three walks along with four doubles. Stewart Hill led the team with four RBIs while Kirsch and Garrett Harris both had three.
The Lions remain at home this week hosting Temple College on Wednesday.
